VAGABOOM! is a Youth Performance Educational Program. Our mission is to supplement diminished arts and physical education in schools via hands-on, performance based expressive arts for K-8 youth. VAGABOOM! combines circus arts, music, theater, acrobalance and stage production to create a unique and empowering experience for each participant.
Utilizing a hands-on educational and artistic process VAGABOOM! directly empowers youth with creative talent and skills while fostering self-confidence, non-violence, discipline, self-respect, leadership and community awareness. We provide a safe and encouraging environment with a small teacher/student ratio. At the end of each course, students create and perform in an original stage performance production.
We are a program of the International Humanities Center, a nonprofit organization, under Section 501(c)(3)of the IRS Code. Each teacher is a working professional, experienced in his/her own field, bringing unique talents and teaching methods into the collaboration of VAGABOOM!. Many instructors are also members of the musical performance project, think13 (www.think13live.com), focused on promoting balance and awareness in all communities using the stage as a canvas and music as a vehicle for change.
